Have you done the usual play dough, painting type stuff? My grandaughter will be two next month and at the moment she loves it if I cut out pictures from magazines for her to stick on to paper. I keep meaning to start a collection of bits and bobs she could use to stick pictures with. Like scrunched up foil and old buttons.
She was playing around with her porridge this morning and said she was cooking. (She loves watching 'Big Cook little cook' on the tv). I've decided to have a go at making chocolate cornflake cakes with her next week, I know she will love it.
I'd also be interested to hear of other activities for two year olds.0 -

Not yet,but these are the type of ideas I am looking for.
Last time she came on an extended stay, she had endless fun just playing with my recycling stuff, different plastic containers and some uncooked macoroni to pour.
Definitely going to try cornflake cakes too and scrap book type stuff. Also getting together some dressing up clothes.I am looking for a pair of little plastic shoes with heels which she would love at the moment.
She likes to watch nick junior "Wonderpets" (so do I!) but would probably watch it all day if allowed , (she's not)!0 -
The Early Learning Centre website has lots of free play activities. You can enter the age of the child and the type of activity you are looking for and it will give you lots of activities to try.

we go to a muckypups class which is great as they set it all up and clear it all up and we make some lovely things and get ideas I would never think of doing at home. there is also messymites near us. I bet there are loads around the country called different things!
Sophie is nearly two. She loves making biscuits or cakes esp if she can shake the raisins in or play with pastry.
She loves being outside - a pot of soil and shes very happy pretending to plant. she has a watering can to play with too. She helped us to plant lettuce seeds and parsley etc and not helps us to take the leaves off and water them which is great.
She also likes bug hunts! grab a plastic container and a spoon if you dont want to touch too much bug lol! we just go off down the road and collect what we can see.
Same sort of thing applies to nature trail. we just take a container pick some grass, flowers, leaves and stones and then come home and play at laying them all on paper like a picture garden.
indoor things we do are things like dancing and singing, dressing up, dusting (!) lego and playing at camping under the table! personally I like playing sleeping lions too...!
I love having a toddler! so much fun!0 -
I make up a big bowl of instant mash for my little girl to play with (just the cheapest own brand one) she uses it like playdough and it doesn't matter if she eats any as i had to stop her using playdough for this reason!!!!I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0
