removing outlook express and IE???

having just downloaded firefox and thunderbird i wondered if i could remove outlook express and IE programs from my pc-or would this mess it up?? any help or knowledge gratefully received. :eek:

    No leave it be as some sites dont view in Firefox so it will come in handy.

    Its not actually possible to remove IE - its tightly integrated into Windows. Some OE componments are also used in other applications.

    You can delete the shortcuts by all means, and you can set firefox to be your default client, but remove them - no.

    IE is needed for Windows updates, I'd leave them too. I seldom use IE, and only then if forced, and when my 9 year old wanted an email address I installed a separate account for her on OE, (it doesn't get used for anything else), just in case she messed about with the Thunderbird settings.

    Which version of Windows?

    For '98 I've used IEradicator

    Thanx irnbru-i,m using 200xp-but i think i'll keep ie as it seems to be a good idea in case i need it in the future.
