Real wood flooring

I have decided on oak worktops in the kitchen, and think it might be nice to run oak flooring through the kitchen diner. Does anyone know where I can get real wood flooring that is suitable for kitchen use?

For a kitchen, it wood (geddit) have to be an engineered floor.

I have a real problem with "not real" wooden floors. I have never looked at engineered flooring, does it look and feel like real wood?
  • I have just bought a bamboo floor for my kitchen from Wickes. They also had Oak and other types of solid wood floor and they are suitable for a kitchen. 25 year guarantee too!

I have just had solid oak worktops and solid oak flooring with skirtings, architraving and door all from Howdens. You need to be able to open a trade account or find a fitter/joiner who can open an account o has one if you can't as it isn't open to the public. I am very very pleased with mine. The floor is treated, meant to be anti stain etc. It will scratch but having just had it fitted and then thrown a party with alcohol etc spilt all over it, it has faired very well indeed. Similiarly, the worktops, which have been oiled, have faired very well indeed. I think I must have been crazy having a party straight after it was fitted :D
