Hi,
Does anybody know of some free, or low cost personal accounting software? I am trying to sort my finances and I'm looking for a cheap software solution. I was thinking maybe something excel based or maybe a freeware programme. I've done searches but most are trial versions and I don't know how reliable they are.
Any reccommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bicas :wall:

Try Martin's Budget Planner. I never tried, but AFAIK it is Excel-based.0

The answer depends on what you mean by 'sort out my finances'.
If you want to assess where your money goes each week/month, then I suggest using Martin's Budget Planner spreadsheet as advised by Grumbler. You can then use it to create a realistic budget which can help you acheive your financial goals (i.e. reduce debt, increas savings, overpay mortgage, etc)
If you want software that will help you track your finances for tax reporting, share tracking, etc; then the likes of Quicken and MS Money seem to be the market leaders. Having said that, I've personally found them to be more hassle than they're worth, and a good old spreadsheet suits my needs.
