Mailing Bags

Could anyone recommend a good, cheap source of plastic mailing bags please?

I'm looking at clearing out my wardrobe and listing some of the clothes that I never wear, and I think mailing bags are going to be the best way to go as packaging, I'm looking at roundabouts a 14"x16" size, I don't need hundreds but I'd like to make sure I'm paying a reasonable price for say 50?

This is a whole new world to me, I usually sell small items in recycled jiffy bags so don't quite know where to start?

o.d.l.packagings.gif is where we used to get them from.

    now use http://www.packagingproductsonline.co.uk/lev4_16_3_0_Polythene_Self_Seal_Mailing_Bags_GREY.asp
not quite as thick, but much cheaper!
  • I see they charge £6.95 p&p per order though, so only really cost-effective for large quantities. If you only want about 50 mailing bags you'd be better buying them on eBay. Just look in the Packing & Posting Supplies category under Business, Office & Industrial.

I've been using these guys for about 2 years now - prices on mailbags tend to vary as new sellers come and go, but APS are pretty consistantly priced low and good service every time, with plenty of choice available, good postal discounts and quick delivery

I tend to just search on ebay for the lowest price at the time with post and packing taken into account.

if your using poly bags then consider not just writing in marker pen
this gets rubbed off in transit and can lead to undelivered items as the address is unreadable

Thanks all, must admit didn't occur to me to try sourcing them from ebay!

Will also remember not to write directly on the bags themselves, don't want to invite negatives caused by non-delivery, thanks for the tip Custardy!

    From us www.polypostalpackaging.co.uk

We manufacture our own bags and have many re-sellers on eBay
