Maternity leave & holidays

Hi

Not sure if ive posted in right area but here goes.
wife is currently on maternity leave,which started in march,she plans to go back mid november.Are we right in thinking that shes accruing holidays time she is off?.Her holiday periods run from april to october & october to april,so she would be off for a whole holiday period. just wondered what happens to them? if she is entitled to them,does she lose them? have to take them when she goes back or will she gets paid for holidays outstanding at the end of october?

I guess she needs to check with her employer but my holiday accrued both times I was on maternity leave - I think she will then either be able to take her additional holiday entitlement if she is returning to work or get paid the holiday outstanding.

i think you always accrue holidays whilst you are off - i'm off from march until next year and so I used my holidays at the start of my leave.

I also still had my holiday entitlement. My leave year begins and ends in September, so the first time I had to use all my leave before I went off as I was due back in October, but the second time I tagged my leave on the end of my maternity leave and was off from the end of December until the end of August. I also accrued bank holidays for when I was on maternity leave which I tagged on at the end.
