Reinstall windows

My laptops messed up with virus and trojan and I cant go online. I want to reinstall XP but cant find toshiba CD.

I was then thinking of trying install my Dell pc vista CD as the laptops vista capable. can anyone advise what to do? I want to wipe the HD and start again but what about the drivers and how do I reboot it?

you won't be able to install the vista PC CD as this is OEM specific.

did you have Zone alarm firewall on your PC as microsoft put out a patch last week which stopped the internet connection for users of this you just get a page cannot be displayed message. what antivirus software do you have on the pc?

Just get hold of any Windows XP OEM CD. Install it using your key on the sticker on the bottom of the laptop.

If you installed Vista, it would be an illegal copy and if you tried to use the same CD key as the one already installed, one would get bricked.

Thanks for advice. Its a TOSHIBA A100-147 T2050. I was going to phone and ask how much the CD is from them.

Yes I had zone alarm and avg. Im trying to get hold of a copy of window so I can use the key. Toshiba want £30 odd. :eek:
