Capped Rates

Are the only companies offering capped rates now doing it for one year only? Therefore, are we now better off just switching to the best offer that is not capped?

    From what I can work out the capped rates are much more expensive than the cheapest and in some cases are up to 50% more so I will be sticking with the cheapest.
    As usual we are all being fleeced for everything we have. Cynical but true.
