Fixing Kitchen taps - quarter turn tap gear part broken!

I've recently bought a new kitchen mixer tap and got a plumber to install it. During the installation, he discovered that one of the kitchen tap gear was broken in half so i need to buy another quarter turn tap gear part. The plumber has now only half installed it and done a runner so does anyone know where i could get such parts? i think i can fix it myself if i knew where i could get my hands on one.
Am i right in assuming that different kitchen taps use difference tap gear sizes or are they all the same size.

Oh no they're all different. Approach the manufacturer first as it should be guaranteed and they'll send you a new part......Am i right in assuming that different kitchen taps use difference tap gear sizes or are they all the same size...A house isn't a home without a cat.
