I recently made a purchase for £45 to hairstuff direct for some straightnerss. Order was meant to arrive last friday (paid extra for special delivery).
i rang them yesterday and they made up some excuse that the order had been sent back my the postal service but that it had been resent and would arrive yesterday.
order did not arrive, i rang today and the number is no longer in service. i think the company has done a bunk.
i paid for the goods by credit card through my skycard (linked with barclaycard).
am i right in thinking i have no right to recover my payment through my card as the goods were not over £100.

Yes, you are right. Sorry!0

Officially the limit is £100 I believe, but on two occasions now Egg have refunded me for transactions for less when ordered items have failed to arrive.
It's worth calling your credit card company to ask - you never know.0 -
Both posts are correct. You are likely to get the money back: apart from anything else your card company has far more muscle than you do when dealing with a non-performing merchant. (In practice, whenever I have been in this kind of situation my card company has helped me.) However, your full legal protection only kicks in when you spend more than a hundred pounds.0

what card company were you with.
mine is a sky card and is issued through barclays bank0 -
The contract is between the credit card company and the supplier of the goods not between you and the supplier of the goods.
Get in touch with your card company ASAP and you will get your money refunded....might take a while but you will get it.0 -
but doesn't the consumer credit act only kick in when its over £1000

Yes it does, but some credit card companies will voluntarily sort this out for you in addition to your statutory rights.0 -
does anyone know what credit card companies will do this for their customers0
