how much net interest do you make from that?0

Anywhere from £95 (6.5% savings/40% tax payer/effective 5 months) to £420 (6.5% offset mortgage/full 6 months)...how much net interest do you make from that?

how do you get these deals as they don't seem to be advertised?
do you have to phone up and really haggle or is it fairly easy?0 -
I've always rung them, but they've made it a little easier these days by posting them up in your secure area online.how do you get these deals as they don't seem to be advertised?

Last year they had one or two 'fee-free' days, which they e-mailed cardholders about. Thankfully one or two MSE'ers posted and many of us bagged deals on empty MBNA run cards. I managed 0.9% APR fee-free for 11 months, which has cost me £110 in interest but made me over £400 net profit...for only one phone call and, because I already had a min payment DD set up, one BACS transfer to repay it.
Money for old rope!

I've no recent personal experience, but these fees are often negotiable...sometimes waived, sometimes capped. It certainly makes a difference.i don't recall getting any emails about 'fee - free' days?? i'm an account holder but only ever get the standard 0% BT offer for a few months but with a horrid 2.98% fee!:rolleyes:0 -

wouldn't be worth phoning today, sunday or monday then?
is it just a mon-fri 9-5 job?
what happens if you ring outside of those hours, do you still get to speak to someone?0 -
The article YB posted explains it all - the people with the authority only work normal office hours - tomorrow is a bank holiday, so phone on Tuesday, 09:00 - 17:00 to be safe, though some may be 08:00 - 18:00.wouldn't be worth phoning today, sunday or monday then?
