Car insurance for elderly drivers specialist?

My 85 year old father, who does very low annual mileage and has never had a claim in 50 years of driving, has just had a horrendous renewal quote from his current insurer, Cornhill.
Can anyone suggest an alternative 'route' for him?

Obvious one is Saga, but see if you can use any of the comparison sites to get quotes for an 85 year old.0

The insurers already posted are pretty much the only ones to try that I'm aware of. Not many insurers quote for new business for those over 75-80.0
