MiserlyMartin, Have you already asked co-op to transfer the £1200 limit ? As from experience they arent very fast and think if you do the transaction today it is not going to arrive before the 14th.
Just a thought but could you follow senario 2 but by making out the cheque before the co-op credit gets there, therefore never having a credit balance, there would be some interest to pay, but if you dont want a credit to appear that might be an option.
I think visa debit is quicker than bacs if the card accepts visa debit payments.(hope thats what you meant)
If you do the above probably best to make cheque for less out than transfer in is..leaving a small credit to pay the interest off.
Hope this makes sense to you..0 -

Hi
I was offered a £1k limit but sent in bank statements and a statement for one of my clear credit cards with the highest unused limit. They matched it even though the letter confirming that my account was open stated the £1k limit. Increased limit was confirmed when I activated my card.
The customer service rep said that credit limit increases have to be considered by an underwriter before they are approved.
The Co-Op card is good for me & missus as our local shop/fuel station is Co-Op and we have a Co-Op divi card as well as the Co-Op dividend credit card. Dividends are earned on balance transfers - although the card seems to have disappeared from the website.
6 months 0% on BT & purchases and no BT fee.
Keep at 'em!

Cheers guys. Ok good news I have been accepted for the higher limit and did the balance transfer over. It turned out that I have longer than I thought to do the BT. I did the original BT onto the other card on the 10th of the month so I thought I would have to pay it off and the end of the 0% deal on the 10th too. But NO! - it turns out that I have until the END of the month payment day (27th-28th) to get the money there before interest is charged, which is fantastic. I don't know if this is normal on all credit cards as I usually pay them off in full unless I am stoozing. Is this usual?0
