Tax Credit Renewal question

Hi

Just reading through our renewal pack and they want us to work out income for 2006/07. We only started to claim in 07/08 so why would they need this info?

To make sure the maths adds up.

07/08 award is based on 06/07 earned income.
Just like 08/09 award (The money you are receiving at moment) is based on earnings of 07/08.

If your 06/07 earned incomes dont add up to the relevant award that you received in the FY of 07/08 then you can expect under/overpayments. Probably the latter if you have told them estimated below that of what you actually earned.
