Hi!
First-time post after having used the forums for some very handy info
I've searched high and low for this, but haven't turned up anything- does anybody know which countries in the EU have the lowest flight taxes and duties?
Any info or pointing in the right direction would be very much appreciated!

Anybody?
I thought somebody might at least have some anecdotal evidence of cheaper flying experiences from other countries!0 -
Anecdotal evidence is meaningless, because airlines make you pay something called "taxes and charges" and it is difficult to know how much of what you pay goes to the government, how much to the airport operator, and how much to themselves. When was the last time you flew on Easyjet and thought that your tax was just five pounds, yet that is the amount of Air Passenger Duty that you paid: the rest of your "taxes and charges" went to various private-sector companies.
And what use would the information be to you? I mean, if you are going on holiday in Spain, you are not going to set off from Cracow instead of Glasgow to save a tenner on airport tax?0 -
Folowing on from voyagers post here some figures for you.
A standard class european flight airline duty is £10 from the UK to virtually anywhere in europe however compare this to Ryanair charging you £25.91 on a flight I just checked and yet easyjet charge only £9.
Therefore the origination of the flight, ie country, has very little to do with it its more about the company you fly with.
I remember years ago people flying to CDG and AMS to fly cheaper to the US or OZ etc however with fuel surcharges etc and the problem with missing connections, and tighter security then I think this is becoming less and less viable.
Unless I was gona save a serious amount of money on flights, ie a couple of hundred quid per flight I wouldnt bother.
all the best
