    Hello.
I had my first appointment today, and got a paper where I have to write what stops I have taken to search for a job.

I have a question though- something I didn't notice whilst I was in the centre,
On the page it says that I must contact job seeker direct at least 2 times a week-
What does this mean I have to do?

Ah a q I can answer :T The phone number to ring to contact jobseeker direct is 0845 60 60 234

if it was the only job nearby i could've understood. but the thing was, she had this list of local jobs and she whizzed past all the nearby, suitable positions which i had ample experience for, and kept going for the further afield positions with unusual titles and silly hours. she was ignoring me saying that the city centre is perfect for me (lots of shops/bars, long opening hours, and close to my college - ideal for working while studying. this is another thing that confused me - she seemed to completely ignore the fact i'm trying to get a job i can keep when i start college). i think staff are so used to dealing with difficult people that they assume all people are being difficult when i think i was being quite logical and sensible! i do consider anything (i applied for a job where i'dve had to dress up as a giant burrito and hand out leaflets in a shopping centre - you can imagine my embarrassment when i didn't even get that!!) but at the end of the day i think it'd be better to find something that'd fit around everything else so i can stay in that job. i've temped and done fixed term contracts all my life, i'm quite sick of moving around and having no job security.

thankfully i actually have a lot of stuff to do so when i'm not jobhunting i have plenty of distraction, otherwise i'd be pulling my hair out :)

I think that might be the line that basically searches for jobs for you? If so then its just the same database on the website so save your phone bill. I will not be calling that number but after making 18 applications in 10 days and having 4 interviews this week and 3 planned for next week already I think I am doing enough to satisfy them! All I need is an offer now:rolleyes:
