hi, just wondered if there was anyone who could offer me any advice
i'm a single mum on income support/incapacity and get HB for a privately rented 3 bed house
i've got 2 children......son 15 and daughter who's just turned 18 last week
my daughter is going to Uni in Sept, about an hour's drive away, and i obviously know that my ctc and child benefit will stop for her, but does anyone know if my HB will be reduced? the benefits people currently pay £445 a month and i have to pay £75 shortfall. i still class this as my daughter's home, as she will be coming home most week-ends, but i just wondered if they'd reduce my HB as i really don't want to have to move out
thanx in advance

Your home should still be classed as her main residence unless she doesn't intend to return home to you.
For example, has she rented/bought a house near the Uni and will intend to stay on there.
You'll still need to contact your Local Authority though and report the change in your daughters status.0
