Well after putting off the inevitable for over a month I finally plucked up the courage to go to court today to go bankrupt!
I did my forms online a couple of weeks ago and just kept putting it off I'm sorry to say! My biggest worry was that they wouldn't allow me to go ahead and due to me not reading the notes very well when filling in the form the judge did say that they wouldn't allow it! But the lovely woman who I dealt with was amazing! I explained what had happened and she went back and came back with a huge grin on her face! They are human after all! :j
It wasn't half as bad as I thought it was going to be despite that little hiccup and the OR's office called me this afternoon to take a few details and said they would send my appointment for a telephone interview in the post and that I would be able to keep the Co-op account that I'd already opened! :T
My OH who went BR some time ago was there to hold my hand and has been an absolute star! Love him to bits!
He has told me so often how much better I would feel for doing it and I really didn't realise how much better I would feel! I feel so much happier, I'm not as snappy at the kids and I can finally look forward to a brighter happier future!
Now I just need to get my divorce out of the way and I'll be over the moon!
Just wanted to post to give a bit of positive vibes to all those out there who are worried about it all really  Onwards and upwards! :rotfl:

I've just said the very same thing to a friend just this minute! :rotfl: I'm now on the lookout for a cheap shredder and then I'm going to treat the hamster with some new bedding and as my OH said "You can let your pet s**t on the bills now!" :rotfl: That made me laugh! I have two huge files full of bills, paid and unpaid, and I can't wait to clear my office of them!
The only thing that concerns me is my work as I'm a freelance PA & Event Organiser, have no idea what the OR is going to say about all thatI've got my own website and have built up a good reputation and am really worried about what's going to happen next
But I'm not going to let that worry me, will just wait for my interview and see what they say!
Seriously though it wasn't bad at all, OH was very surprised as well, he went bust nearly 20 years ago for £100k thanks to a supplier and a customer conning him and going bust on the same day!
To anyone out there who is concerned don't leave it and get even more stressed by being concerned!0 -
Well done for finding the courage to take that step:T
Sounds soooo familier putting it off.....wonder why:oThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….0 -

My OH is a truly fantastic guy and yes has an amazing SOH! :rotfl: He has to with the crap he puts up with day to day! And that's not just from me!
I certainly wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for him! In fact I don't know where I would be! Probably living on a friends floor with my kids living with their dad! I kid ye not! I was on the verge of losing the two things that are the most important things in my life as I couldn't see any way out! That was the point when I told my OH about my financial problems and started seeking advice! He made me realise that even if I did the aforementioned unmentionables I would still not be able to live! Bankruptcy would have been inevitable and I would have lost my kids in the process!
Oh boy now I'm all emotional again now!Even up to entering the court this morning I was stressing that there must be another way to get over the problem! But there really wasn't! My kids have suffered enough thanks to the stress I've endured, now it's time to enjoy our lives! They'll still have to put up with their alcoholic, spendaholic dad every other weekend but I can finally make their future a lot brighter and start trying to teach them the true meaning of money and debt!
I'm babbling again but my parents were rubbish with money, I relied on a man who was rubbish with money and I'll be damned if my kids will have to go through anything remotely similar!
My OH took me around town once we finished with court and wanted to buy me something to say well done but I couldn't do it! Shopping just reminds me of debt and I didn't need anything so came away emptied handed! In more ways than one! A nice cheap lunch with the man I love was all that I need followed by a huge hug with my two darlings! :A0
