Is an online estate agent as good as a traditional one?

This is an old thread from someone who couldn't be bothered to thank anyone properly or follow it up. It's been dredged-up today by a spammer wanting to promote a Gloucestershire Internet agency.
I'd let it die.

Try Turtle Homes who a brand new online estate agency. They will market your property for £500+VAT (including a Home Information Pack) with just £650+VAT commission when they sell your home. They are a good compromise between a traditional and online estate agency.
If they're a 'brand new' online estate agency, who's going to look at their website? Why would anyone look there when the traditional agents, in combination with the current portals, have the vast majority of the properties for sale?
£650+VAT WHEN they sell your home? IF they sell, more like....0 -

Whereas we've had no issues whatsoever with the online agent. And in fact have actually also had far more viewings through them. Can't complain for £400 fee!
its okay if you sell, if you dont you have just gave them 400 pound to advertise it on right move, theres a lot cheaper ways to get it on right move.
i tried WOW and they were rubbish, but like you say local ones are no better, ive binned my local estate agent this week the 4th one.I am not a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as not being a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Tried HouseSimple thinking they would be better value than the high street cowboys. This is what I found:
- pre-contract communication - Excellent
- Cost of HIPs - Average - shop round elsewehere for better value
- post-contract communication - Poor - no updates on progress in marketing and having to send same information repeatedly
- speed of service - Slow getting property uploaded to website
