Tesco Photo "Service" or lack thereof

Needed to get some photos printed up quickly over the weekend, so thought to give the Tesco 1 hour service a go. It should be simple, upload your photos through the website and collect them from selected stores after an hour. Our local Tesco (Hatfield) didn't do the one hour service but a store further up the A1 (Baldock) did.

The smaller problem was that the upload applet kept crashing Internet Explorer on Vista (I tried 2 different machines). Fortunately, I had an older laptop to resort to and eventually got the photos uploaded and the order placed.

We drove to the store, about 10 miles away, about 4 hours later expecting the prints to be ready to be collected. We got there to find the photolab closed, Customer 'Services' simply informed us the 2 lab staff were both sick, and no reason why no one called us our phone number (that the website specifically asked for, for this purpose), just a simple shrug of the shoulders. We were told the photos would be available on Sunday after noon.

Back to the store on Sunday, only to find that this time the minilab had broken down and the photos now wouldn't be ready until Tuesday. Not good enough. Cancelled the order and got them done in an hour on Monday at Jessops. 40 wasted miles and time driving. Wouldn't recommend the Tesco service to anyone.

Browtoa, i accept i was very unlucky (or Tesco should maintain better staffing/machines) that the service was unavailable 2 days in a row. What's intolerable is that they didn't bother to call to say there was a problem and me wasting my time driving there.

KennyBoy66, I think it's extemely arrogant to assume that every newbie on this forum is a troll and a liar. I'm not saying they aren't there, but you need to ease up on your cynicism.

you will find that the staff who look at the web orders and therefore the ones who ring the customers were the same that were off ill, so no phone call.

if you did get a 'shrug' from CS then highlight your concerns to the store manager.
