weather will be fine, and hotter than at home.

Just a note golf del sur is right next door to the airport,

And puerto de la cruz is further up the island. So will be a bit of a transfer.

why not go to tripadvisor and join the tenerife forum, were a friendly bunch who will help you out.

Was going to say about Golf del Sur being right by the airport but I see Saint_Chris already has! But it really is very close by - low flying aircraft a-go-go.

Puerto de la Cruz is further north and away from the busier tourist resorts in the south. Quite a pretty place, with plenty of nice places to visit along the coastline.

Weather should be pleasant at that time of year - but the north of the island is generally a bit cooler/wetter than the south.
  • Hi

We've got a timeshare in southern Tenerife, and been a few times in late November and early December and although it can be over cast and windy it is still very warm if not hot, but we have days on the beach and around the pool no problem. the days are much shorter though which is a little odd as it does get dark quicker there than here. Have a nice time

i stayed at the gulf de sur last year and loved it, didnt notice the airplanes at all. I went in mid Oct and found the weather to be great.

Loads to do close by, its only a small island and to get to the north only took us just over and hour by bus and it was a great scenic route

I prefer Puerto - more than yer "lay in the sun" place. Weather normally good in early December, but had the "tormenta tropicale" three years ago (I think) - pylons blown over, northern airport out of action for a couple of days - everything cleaned up fairly quickly though.

Stayed one night in a hotel very near the south airport (was doing a Tenerife/Gran Can tour) and didn't have a problem with noise - planes are pretty quiet these days.

have you booked all the holidays you have asked about? looking through your posts you have asked about loads of destinations lol.

tenerife could be cloudy all week in dec so no sun tan, or could be hot and sunny.

Stayed at both locations , out of convenience prefer Golf fel Sur, with two kids nice to leave going to the airport until the very last moment. (Although there are 2 airports on Tenerife, I also get Sur La Reife LOL). No real problems with aircraft noise and it can be good fun to spot BA, Thomsons Lufthansa etc arrivng !

    Good luck
  • depends where the hotel / apt is on Golf del sur - sometimes you can smell the aircraft as well as see & hear them! but some complexes are far enough away for it not to bother you.

I always found Golf Del Sur a very quiet holiday, and unless you have a car, its a lay by the pool tye thing, as there aint much else to do (apart from plane spot!)

I personally like Puerto de la Cruz, it has a great feeling to it, full of vibrance, not 'tacky' and loads to do (try the Loro Park!).

TOP TIP! if you are going to Puerto de la cruz - it's often cheaper (or just a few pounds extra) to hire a car for the week than pay for a transfer - then you have transport while you are there!

Altho I post and ask they are not all for me, some of my friends do not have internet access, come to think of it they can't even switch a computer on and so I do the legwork for them. I am always telling them what a wonderfull board this is and YES most of them have booked about the places I have asked for them.
