On the other hand "Andrew" might make a few bob out of your stories. As was previously pointed out, all it takes is a bit of research simply by way of reading the numerous threads here; the tragic story on DFW last night is somebody's real life, let's remember, not fuel for the hungry media monster. If it gets made at all, it probably won't be a public information film, but a piece of commercial drama with all that entails. It strikes me that the people on this board give each more support and feedback than any piece of fiction could do. Don't kid yourselves: the reason we stay anonymous if because we already know the stigma attached to being BR. A TV drama is unlikely to change that. Maybe it's research for a Ken Loach movie; if so great. But I have my doubts. Just some food for thought before some good folk give their souls away for next to nothing. BL0

Just a quick note to say Andrew realised he should have checked with us first and emailed to ask. As his aims are the same as the site, and would give a wider audience an idea of what being in debt and bankruptcy is all about then we're happy to re-instate this thread.
Good luck with it Andrew, let us know how it goes!
Andrea
Thank you MSE Andrea et al.
Due to the infancy of the recession we are all pawns in, bankruptcy and financial hardship will be on the doorstep of scores of ill-fated families the world over, so capturing the spirit of the time is of utmost importance to my story.
Thank you again for allowing this thread to stand.

Andrew just to clarify Billys post also read the following traumatic thread

I don't feel quite as strongly about this as Billy. After all, some dramas have been crucial to changing public awareness. But why would it be "rubbish" if the hotelier's insurmountable debt was what the screenplay was really about? It's not at all obvious to me. Even the most cursory read of the various threads on this board will show that while everyone here has all sorts of other stuff going on in their lives, good and bad, serious debt isn't a sub-plot. Anyway, Purplekylie has given you all could need, very eloquently and succinctly.0

Hello Billy
Let me be clear, I have come to this forum for answers to my questions(which will be clearer from here-on-out) and to examine the plight of members who post here. I cannot offer support nor financial reward for any person/s that helps me.
Yes I want to write a script that will be realized on on the silver screen, but it certainly isn't a screenplay that will make me a hansome sum of money, A man driven to the point where he believes killing his family and then himself is the only right option isn't a "safe bet" for investers, which I am sure you can imagine.
I have a fervid passion for this story and its host of different themes that are all relevant today and weaved around it.
I have not long come out of film school and am trying to make my way in the world like any other(incidentlly I have a £13,000 CDL to pay back). I have a couple of scripts that are generating interest in the industry, but just want to get my head down and continue writing; its what I love in this life, but please don't hold it against me.
If members don't want to post in my thread then they won't post in my thread. Members that do should know that I will be wholly grateful for their time.
Thank you0 -

Hello LilyBart
Forgive me, I was in story mode. Financial hardship leading inevitably to bankruptcy is the spine of my story(central-plot), its the foundation that provides a platform for everything else to move along. As I said my story is based on a real case and I will try to stick to it rigorously.0 -
