Hi
we are just about to start work on re-doing our bathroom - new suite, new flooring, total new redecoration.
Its only a small room and i don't have a fortune to spend :-[ just wondered if anyone could give me any good tips ...
Have looked at some loos and baths etc in B&Q - figured they are probably about the cheapest place to get them - is that right do you think?
any other advice most welcome

try wickes

I went round all of the bathroom places and got all of my stuff from PTS. They're much cheaper then Plumbcenter and have a good range of branded sanitary ware.
If you buy from the DIY places you may find a lot of the cheap sanitary ware they sell is made in places like Portugal or some where and that the toilets don't flush very well.0 -
Try small independents too, and screwfixdirect they can often beat most DIY stores prices. One day everything I earn will be mine and not the banks... ::rotfl:0

the Azure Suite (aka Shell Suit) @ B&Q £199
Hope that helps
SpikeyUse your judgement, and above all, be honest with yourself.I walk with the world & the world walks with me!I don't make bad choices!!! Other people just fail to see my GENIUS !!!!0 -
Do you have near you Howden's Joinery. Not sure if you need a trade account. Try and get your partner to go in his working clothes. We had ours there but my husband is self employed. But I would definately give it a try.

We've had 2 from Focus - actually made by Jacuzzi, for them (no bubble jets in ours though). Watch for their offers giving £150 ish off, on different models. All the taps n stuff are included, too - watch out for some places adding this on AFTER!!
& if you're newly moved in - 6months - you get an extra 10% discount card there, too.
Then I'd say Wickes.
hen homebase - on a 10% discount day.
Howdens DO require a proper trade account - probably won't even give you an idea of prices, without one. Ask your plumber.
Travis Perkins (builders merchants) were keen to offer trade terms, to private customers - they provide a discount card & were pretty helpful, for materials on our extension.
Have fun!!

Recomend not speading less than £350 for a suite, and staying away from B&Q,cheap imported rubbish, dont forget you will have to live with your choice for a few years,so pay a little extra.
And make plumbers live,s a little better by not keeping us hanging around waiting for you to exchange the cheap plastic parts that are broken/missing when you buy from discount stores ;D ;D0
