Pre-existing conditions holiday

There is a chance that my wife and I may be going to Mauritius next year for a 2 week holiday combining a wedding. She is registered disabled due to a balance issue, (but can walk with an aid for miles), and I had a heart attack 4/5 yrs ago.
They are presumably pre-existing conditions and once the insurance company are given the details, will fix the premium accordingly?
Does anyone think either of us will encounter insurance problems?. Or has anyone anything they would like to contribute by way of advice before we get too far with arrangements.

The only advice I'd offer is to be completely honest about any medical conditions.
If you don't declare something, and you have a problem completely unrelated to your health problems, the insurance company could turn round and say your policy was invalid.0 -
i agree about being honest. if you need to claim for something else, and they discover your pre-existing conditions, then your policy may become invalid. we even disclose my daughter's asthma, even though it is controlled and she hasn't had an attack in years.Blonde jokes are one-liners so men can remember them...;)0

Although this thread is specific to Florida, I think the initial bit says it all about declaring pre-exisiting medical conditions. It may even put your mind to rest about getting cover.

I dont think you'll have any problems getting insurance, however, you'll probably find a lot of companies wont cover you for you pre-existing conditions.
I have congential heart disease and asthma and pay the same amount as my other half who has no previous conditions, but I'm not coverered for my pre-exisiting conditions. In the past when I've looked into getting insured for my heart condition and asthma it was quite expensive just for the asthma, as I had to got through a specialist company, in the end I just got insurance which wouldnt cover my pre-existing conditions but as debs said, just made sure I informed them of my conditions.0 -
try some-one like medi-cover or karma, they have insurance policies for pre-exisiting conditionsThe only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:
