eBay Mobile Phone Scam????
Niteflyer
I was browsing through the mobiles on eBay and came across a few listings selling phones for ridiculous prices (one was selling 80, yes 80 Motorola RAZR's for £46 FOR THE LOT with 2 hours left to bid), the seller had a feedback of 280 and only one neg, but all he has sold before is shirts for £5 her and £9 there. But if this is a scam (which it must be) why risk a good feedback for £50???
Has anyone else had any dealings with this kind of thing?
Thanks
Matt

I'm going to shift this thread across to the Ebay board as I am sure there will be plenty of people there who have come across this kind of thing

I've seen this in the past and wondered what's going on, seen it with the Nokia 8800 when they first came out, can't help but wondering why too.2p off is still 2p off!0

Stay away from them, if a deal is to good it usually is. Ive been loking for an 8800 and say all this 10 for 1000 etc etc and looked at feedback pretty decent.
The photos for them are the same on all the listings, so think someone with a bit of eBay clout has saw some individual post up and make some money by scamming people and thouight to try it.
The bid being so low looks like others have not bothered to bid on it, so stay clear.
Post a direct link, or PM and I'll have a look, but be careful.0 -
I’ve seen many auctions like this, where someone’s account has not been used in a while or they have only sold low value one off items now and then.
I think the scammers have stolen the accounts, (through phishing/trojans/keyloggers etc), set loads of high value auctions up (laptops, mobiles etc) with all the extras like gallery, bold, and featured listing. They add all these as they wont be paying the listing fees.
Also I have noticed some of them blatantly just copy other peoples auctions and then insert "pay me via scammersnamehere@hotmail.com" into the auction with, I can’t get my eBay messages (too much spam, or A N Other reason) please contact me via this method.
If it’s too good to be true, then it usually is.0
