What you have to remember is that "your" credit or debit card isn't your card at all, it is the banks card. For you to get a refund onto the card you need to be present in order to input your pin number because that is what the bank requires. Same as when you purchase something.0

Yes and if you actually read what I wrote "they have no legal obligation". Good customer service to me means going beyond legal obligations or "the book" as you say.

It's standard practice to issue refunds if it's a card purchase to the same card.
And for they other argument, 'why can't they bend the rules this time'. If every retailer bent the rules everytime a customer asked in (wait for it!!!!) 'the name of customer service!!!!!' they wouldn't have any business left!0 -

Tell that to Mrs Advent when she "nicks" my credit card and goes on a spending spree. Do you honestly, honestly, honestly believe what you have just typed?
Mrs Advent will also return things and get the money refunded back onto my card if I cant be a$$ed to make the journey to town with her.
NOT ONCE in a squillion refunds since chip and pin has Mrs Advent been told.......sorry luv, but I need to check if you have testicles as this credit card has a blokeys name on it and you have breasts.0
