Any had a bash at growing their own tea leaves?

Hi Lauren_1,
If you go to www.amazon.co.uk and do a search in the plants and seeds part, you will find tea plants for sale. Might be warm enough in the south of England but seriously doubtful up here in damp, dreich Scotland. Q - in a heated greenhouse? Must be hardy plants as tea is grown all over - Russia, Chile, China etc. Bit of a contradiction probably would grow in Scotland.
Sorry, it's not tea plants but the seeds - Camellia Sinensis - you grow the plant. 3 seeds from amazon via Supreme Seeds £1.25, buying direct from Supreme Seeds - 3 seeds 95p. I buy via Amazon as I win e-vouchers from doing surveys. Supreme Seed is based in Plymouth. Was tempted to buy them the last time I was on Amazon and I still have £4.61 left to spend. Supreme Seeds website states they are currently out of stock.0 -
It seems tea is same botanic family as camellias, so if they grow where you are, then tea will
Taylors, the tea people are apparently setting up plantation in Yorkshire
The problem may be in the finished leaves, green tea would be easy, just uses the green leaves, but normal tea needs the leaves fermenting & drying [I think], not as easyGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0
