Switching from Southern Electric to Ebico

I filled in the swtiching form about 2 months ago as I decided I liked ebico's simple tarriff and payment methods. However since doing this I've heard nothing from either company!!! I cancelled the southern electric DD's and was expecting something in the post. Nothing. Anyone else had the same experience?

I switched my electricity supply from Southern to EBICO at the end of last year. Like you I was expecting something in the post as stated on their website. Apparantly if you are already with Southern it is just a change of tariff and does not go through the normal change of supplier process.

They also swiched my gas in error, and it proved difficult to get them to put things right. Impossible to contact EBICO by phone, and days to get an e-mail reply.

Just keep trying if you have a query.
  • Hi there,

Gavioli is correct. Although Ebico is a company in its own right all its customer service + accounts are maintained by the Southern Electric Service team. Therefore all you should have to do is call the southern helpline and request a tariff change to the Equipower and Equigas tariffs. If they question this explain you are moving to Ebico and require the correct tariff change.

I switched a while ago from Ebico to Southern Electric and I didn't get any paperwork - it just happened! Have to say that Southern Electric have brilliant customer services - that applies whether with them or Ebico.

I third it...absolutely no complaints with them. Quite, quite painless apart from an initial hiccup with the rates on the smartcard, sorted in a few days.
