Does anyone know if a wall hung basin can be fitted to a plaster internal wall? Thanks

Do you mean plasterboard i.e. stud partition wall? If that's what you mean then the answer is yes but you are best off putting extra studs or noggins, i.e timber the size of the partition framework, in the wall where the basin will hang.
It will depend a bit on the size of the basin too, as you might be able to get away with a very small hand wash basin whereas a large modern full sized one would IMHO definitely require the extra timber in the wall.

It can, but as said you would need extra supporting braces in the wall to screw into to take the weight. They are easy enough to make yourself but could be a bit of work. Alternatively you could by a metal frame, most bath stores do them.
