Should I ship to Dublin?

Someone has asked if I will ship an item (phone) to Dublin, it's a UK only auction at the moment, should I bother or not? Anything I should be wary of? Is it worth the extra hassle and how much are postage costs?

Postage costs are the same as Europe so can be expensive, you will also need to upgrade and quote for International signed for so that you can get a tracking numbe and the correct amount of insurance for a phone.

I ship to the Republic quite a bit but I'm not sure persoanlly I would ship a phone purely because of the tracking and insurance issue, but why not price it all up and see what it will cost and just let the potential buyer know?

One other thought though, if you change your seller preferences to accept this bid then you will leave yourself open to accepting other international bids as well, so would have to amend your auction to show the International rate for postage.

This is what I was worried about too, could do without scammers in the last few hours, I'll work it out and bob him an e-mail anyway, probably not worth his while.

  • Its a pity there wasnt a company in the North of Ireland which relayed shipments. Im sure if you got in contact with some local Northern Irish courier firms they could work something out for you.

I know Interlink ship from anywhere in Ireland to England for around £25 and its trackable.

also ensure you send AIRSURE as this provides proof of delivery, AIRMAIL tracked only proves postage and its left the country

AIRSURE ONLY is suitable if you use paypal, NOTHING ELSE

also, watch out on paypal, make sure he's got a verified address or you're not covered by paypal insurance

i'd suggest if he is a newbie/low feedback user and it's a lot of money, dont take paypal!
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)
