Monarch In-Flight 23% covert exchange robbery

Dearie me - this has come a bit out of left field hasn't it?

Did you get out of the wrong side of bed this morning?
I really can't see why you have resurrected this thread with the comments that you have about a completely unrelated subject.
How odd. Takes all sorts I suppose

as in the other 'comparison' you quoted (bank charges), this comparison is like comparing apples and pears.
Most of my posts said that IN MY EXPERIENCE, Monarch DO quote the exchange rate when they start their drinks service.
I have no reason to believe you when you say they didn't do so on your flight.
Who said the exchange rate was declared numerous times?
How many of the responses you've had to your post are in agreement with your point of view? So what does that tell you?
I would suggest that you check out the meaning of the word 'troll' - it's not someone who just disagrees with your point of view.
Out of interest, what was the outcome of the BBC report?0 -
When I have flown with Easyjet the menu is priced in euros and pounds, think the same is true with Ryanair. At the end of the day the airline needs to get the money into the bank at no cost to them so I guess it depends on were they are based as to how bad the exchange rate is.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Monarch airlines are based at Luton so by rights they should have a favourable exchange rate - I could understand an unfavourable one if the airline was Spanish based for instance but its not.
Cabin crew do not always advice of the exchange rate although it is their job to do so. As pointed out by the OP 'he- had left his UK debit card in Spain and only had euros and £5 in cash - 'he' hasnt explained what this sterling is for and one can presume that it was for a taxi or other such expense when 'he' got back to the UK.
IncapablePuppy - if the OP wants to ressurrect his/her thread then who are you to say otherwise? If you don't like it then you don't have to respond do you and if you are really disliking what you read then there is always the ignore button so all the OP's postings are removed from your sight:D0 -

I didn't say the thread shouldn't be resurrected
I merely commented on how bizarre I thought it was that the OP returned to this thread with a rant about something completely unrelated. I assume they thought they had found a comparison to try and back up their argument further but it just made no sense at all (to me).
I also never stated any dislike for what I had read, quite the reverse in fact - I found that particular post quite amusing. No need on my part for utilising the ignore function either, although I would suggest if you have been so traumatised by my comments that you pop me on ignore right away

80p for a can of lemonade is overpriced anyway... you are paying over the odds in both sterling and euros, but airlines aren't known for being cheap with onboard sales (look at the 'tax-free' prices carefully). If it's the same as what I sell, then it would have only been a mixer size can for 80p, not a normal size one! I would have bought a drink in the terminal while I was sat waiting anyway and then as the price is clearly displayed, there is no problem with exchange rates!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16
