Ryanair hidden costs?

I am about to book four flights to reus (barcelona) for next year and have never booked with the cheap airlines before. I have been told there can be all kinds of hidden charges with ryanair ie suitcases check in etc can anyone give me some idea of the hidden charges and how much they may be don't want to book the flights at one price and find they cost me lots more. Thank you!

or run through the Ryanair booking process all the way to the end and the charges will be shown.

You can then decide which airline offers the best price.

When I fly with Jet2 from Leeds, or rather attempt to book for the best prices I usually end up driving to Manchester and flying from there as the distance, fuel, time and parking charges come in a lot less than higher flight fees.

What Rynaair have always been good at is slipping in payments that they think you need, so at each stage go over the price with a finetooth comb to check that you are getting what you are asking for and not what Ryanair want you to have

You will be charged for every bag you want to check in up to 15kgs.
If at the airport you are over 15kgs, then you have to pay more for every kg you are overweight. You will not receive a boarding pass until you can show the receipt for paying the excess baggage fee.

If you want to board first then you can opt to pay extra for this service.

You will be charged to check-in if you dont do it online. If you dont have a British or EU passport you HAVE to check-in at the desk and pay the fee and try to have it refunded later (I was unsuccessful at this).

The default is to include insurance. If you have travel insurance you need to uncheck this box.

If you want to buy food on the plane, this is extra. You do get a free Ryanair magazine though.

Just go through the complete booking process without putting in any credit card details (oh yes, you will be charged to pay on a credit or debit card) and see how much your flight will be.

    Good luck.

Pukkamum, are you aware that Reus airport is not Barcelona city? Its a good hour to hour and half away by bus. My son had to get taxi back from Barcelona to Reus because the woman in the ticket office was talking on her mobile for half an hour keeping everyone waiting for tickets consequently the bus left without them and a taxi was 75 euros.

Also, be aware that credit/debit card charges relate to each journey per person.
So, if you book return flights for 2 people you will be charged FOUR credit/debit card charges, not just one.

RyanAir also fly into Girona for Barcelona. Again, this is not the city airport, but there is a coach service from Girona airport into the city timed to coincide with Ryanair flight arrivals.
    It takes about 50 minutes.

Hi I'm just back from Barcelona - we flew with RyanAir into Reus airport... you can either go by bus (2,20 euro) or taxi (18 euro) to Reus train station, then it is a one and a half hour train journey (7 euro) into Barcelona. We were told a taxi from Reus airport directly into Barcelona would be 150 euro!

The journey from the airport to Barcelona did take a while but wasn't stressful and I couldn't find any cheap flights/suitable times from Birmingham into Girona. However most people at Reus airport seemed to have gone to resorts rather than Barcelona itself.
