Hi
First post to this forum, so hello to all
My Lupin was amazing - tall and flowered beautifully but this is no longer the case. I think I mixture of puppy/torrential rain and heavy wind have done some serious damage
The long stems (about 2ft) have mostly broken and it looks very sad.
There is some new growth at the bottom, am I right in thinking I should just remove all the long stems (inc. those which are not broken).
Don't think I want to keep the seeds but if I did should I just pot them up and put in sheltered area?
Many thanks in advance!

I personally wouldn't cut down the broken growth as the leaves will still be able to absorb the sunlight. I have a couple of sad looking branches but these still act as perotection for the new growth.
As for the seeds - those will germinate very sucessfully in any conditions.July Win: Nokia 58000 -
Lupin seeds are edible. You might have to hunt around on an Italian cookery site to find the info.0

Personally I would cut off the damaged bits, and then leave well alone and see what happens, there should be new growth from the bottom, and if you are lucky you might get a 2nd showing of flowers this yet.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

How long do lupins take to flower please? Planted seeds last year, they are lovely big plants this year, if a little slugged in patches but NO flowers.
TIA, sorry to hijack

Not all lupin seeds are edible, some are poisonous. Unless you are sure which is which, or buy them from a food shop, I would avoid eating any of them.

Thank you all for your advice.......
Don't think I will eat the seeds, but might shove some into a pot and see what happens, never grown any thing other than veg from seed before.
I will remove only those stem that have broken at bottom and see what happens, lots of growth at the bottom of plant already - and wouldn't it be lovely if I get another burst of flowers this summer.
