Hello again, its that time of the year where my computer just has to play stupid!
Parents came home from my university flat yesterday with it, and iv set it up but i am now unable to get onto the internet via my Netgear wireless adapter.
Its always worked here before, but it just wont connect now.
Tried to look for my MAC address to see if we could allow it on the router by my computer is saying this when typing the following into run -
CMD
IPCONFIG
Ethernet adapter local area connection :
Media state ................ : Media disconnected
Ethernet adapter local area connection2 :
Media state ................ : Media disconnected
I know its not my adapter that is faulty as it just tried to connect to someone elses wireless. and it is picking up my home wireless but i just cant connect to it.
Help plz!

Do you get an error message or are you being prompted for a password when you try to connect to the wireless network?0

Your IPCONFIG returns nothing about your wireless connection, or none that you have listed. I would check that its not disabled either under Windows (start-control panel-network connections) or do you have a switch to turn it off if its a laptop. Under My computer properties deice manager - does the computer still see the device?. In your wireless configurator where is shows all the connections available I expect your HOME network connects automatically - if you can tell it to Disconnect first and then try to connect. Lastly the wireless may have been set to use a fixed IP - change it back to maunal and then run IPCONFIG / RENEW to flush the DHCP settings. good luck0
