Bath waste needed for a thick bath - URGENT!!!

I'm just in the process of having a new bath fitted and because the bath is a very thick acrylic free standing one standard bath wastes are just not long enough to be able to screw the waste through the bottom of the bath.

I got the bath from B&Q and have tried to order the waste that is suitable for the bath but they've told me it will take 5 weeks and our old bath is sitting in the skip!!!!

I've tried Screwfix, etc but they all seem to sell wastes for standard thickness baths.

Does anyone know where I can get a suitable waste quickly as I don't fancy not being able to bathe for 5 weeks.:eek:

Which B&Q store did you get the bath from - was it one of the massive warehouse ones? If not its worth trying the nearest Warehouse because they often have things in stock that you otherwise have to order. On Saturday I got some kitchen doors in the Hartcliffe store which all the catalogues etc state are order only (they supposedly had them in Longwell Green as well but that's in the middle of a refit and no-one can find anything!). If you can get hold of a code you can phone up and check on the store stock system (although a very nice chap actually walked to check on the shelf for me!).

Probably a long shot but still.

Yes it's a big warehouse B&Q and they don't have it in stock. I even got the phone number of the company that supplies the waste and they do have the waste in stock but they won't allow me to buy it direct, I've got to do it through B&Q. Past experience of ordering the rest of the bathroom suite from B&Q doesn't fill me with confidence as it took over 2 months to be delivered and even then parts were missing.

If possible I'd rather get the waste from somewhere else as I'm in a hurry.

Is it definitely 5 weeks? I recently ordered a towel rail from homebase and they said they had to quote 4-6 weeks for special orders, but I actually got a call saying the order had arrived less than 48 hours later.

Maybe they are just covering their backs, but can get it sooner.

Also have you tried getting them to ring round some other branches of B&Q to see if they've got it? You might be able to find it if you're prepared to drive a bit further.

I've been back down to B&Q and ordered the waste and they've given me the number of the warehouse where it will be dispatched from. I've phoned them up and it's in stock so they've fast tracked it for me so I should get it in a couple of days as it's a small item.:T
