just got virgin's credit card and transfered my debt from hsbc. i'm wanting to know the best way to cancel the agreement.
1. write to my local branch or
2. when i got the card last year it came with a cancellation form which says i 've got to cut the card in half and send it with the form to southend on sea (headquaters).
i don't fancy sending my card in the post so what should i do ?
thanks

They might accept a written confirmation in the cancellation letter that the card has been destroyed. That's been o.k.for the cards I've cancelled in the past, non have been HSBC though.

I cancelled (closed) my Marbels cc (hsbc) by calling 0121 214 5549 (my geographical calla are free) and asked them to put me through to the appropriate dept. to close the card. They just asked me to destroy the card without the need to return it. I would suggest you also ask for written confirmation that they have closed the card.0
