Thinking about going in December.

Any advice on which airline to fly, where to stay, what to do etc

Obv am looking to keep costs down so any tips or advice would be great, especially since I've heard its pretty expensive.

I flew with ana but I don't think they are cheap, great airline though.

what do you want to see, Japan is so diverse and how long do you want to go for etc?

if it's just tokyo you are planning to go to then I would stay in the shinjuku area, with all the neon lights and sky scrapers, Japan is not as expensive as it's made out to be so with careful planning you will get by on a budget

I flew direct with BA from Heathrow in April. We got a good deal with Expedia**. We planned to do 2 centres but ended up staying at one place for 2 weeks was much better value. With the transport system in Tokyo most places are easy to get to. We stayed in Odiba (Tokyo bay)

** if you use expedia remember to use Quidco AND do a quick google for money off vouchers.

What is the weather usually like in Japan around that time? I'm largely planning to be in Kyoto and Tokyo.
