Park resorts or Pontins?

Hi Everybody,
I have just had a brain wave and am thinking about booking 4 nights away in the next couple of weeks at Camber sands. Now I dont normally like Pontins but my friend was at the camber one the other week and said it was fine.. SO does anybody have any knowledge of either of these places? (pontins or park resorts, camber sands) I will be going by public transport with 5 children... on my little tod!

I have four kids of my own so we are always on the look-out for a cheap and fun holiday in the UK. Heard some not too good things about Park Resorts so I don't think I would risk it. Pontins Camber isn't supposed to be all that good either.

I would go for Pontins Blackpool. National Express coaches stop there too so you can get cheap transport.

The other thing I would maybe consider is a caravan at Butlins? Lots for kids to do and more inclusive activites than Park Resorts and Pontins.

Just come back from Camber Sands, Bus 100 stops outside both resorts. Park resorts looked much better than Pontins (could be a case of grass greener) only had a budget apartment which was adequate but not up to my standard of cleanliness (bring some cleaning wipes if you go) and wouldn't be with very young children. The luxury apartments looked much better and the standard looked okay. There was plenty of entertainment on offer for the children though and there is a creche like facility as well, so young children would have plenty to keep them occupied. One bit of bad news was I overheard that an apartment was robbed of £300 that was hidden behind a wardrobe and another in same block had a load of birthday presents taken. Looking at Park resorts there seems to be more facilities however would the entertainment etc for the children compare with the Pontins. You might find more info on a search through the forum.

and she loved it - she is 4. i woudl recommend also great transport and if you book through Anglia's special number at least 24 hours beforehand you may be able to get train ticket for £6 each way from the london area (though dont know where you are based) and free for kids under 5 as you may or may not be aware. also i think pontins are doing some cheap discounted holidays at the moment though the last i looked was the one near liverpool from £99 - not sure on train travel. not as clean as norfolk one but we did trips to liverpool etc and the entertainment is fab for kids. good luck.
i also did a short weekend camping trip to whitecliff bay on the east side of ilse of wight which was nice but though this has entertainmetn for kids not always that straightforward if you want to go out and about and the bus that stops in front of the caravan park/campsite finished at 6 pm so a bit limited. but if comgin from london region the train trip was straightforward and south west trains are doing some great deals or megabus/train are at the mometn so you might get really cheap tickets. i prefer the west side of the island otherwise. kids love the isle of wight
