Did anybody else buy these on the pretence that they were british?
Bought mine today and just went to have one (or a couple:rolleyes: )when I noticed it said under country of origin USA!!!!
I'm sure the advert said from field to store in under 24 hours!
So just wondering if anyone else had this???

My folks went to Asda and got some and they were from Holland, but when dad went to a different store today, the ones they had in were British. My mum said the advert made it look like it'd be British strawberries on offer.
I got mine from Tesco, at twice as much and looking half as nice. grrThere's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

Is there something wrong with American strawberries?0

Is there something wrong with American strawberries?
No, but there is something right about buying something that can be grown in our own country in season rather than importing them from another country.
Both my punnets I bought today are British, in fact thinking about it, I don't think I saw any from anywhere but Britain.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Nowt wrong as far as I know, but like all fruit (&veg.) they're better tasting when in season, wherever they originate. Haven't you noticed how disappointing nectarines and peaches have been until recently? Is there something wrong with American strawberries?
Best strawberries I've had so far are those I picked at a local PYO yesterday. The farm's well away from major roads and the fields are a short walk from the farm track you drive down, but they're pretty much unpolluted by cars and other traffic! Best of all, they're only 90p a Lb, not including those you've munched whilst picking! Can't beat a British strawberry fresh from the plant, still warm from the sunshine that ripened it where it grew. MMMMM!:DWorse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0
