Dissecting a mouse!

My mouse is ill :(

I was going to carry out emergency open chip surgery but couldn't get through the tough outer skin. I even contacted a specialist (below) but it was no use.

I took the stickers off but there were no screws underneath. I can't see where there could be any other screws. The article looks like it's using an Intelli Explorer v3, mine is a v4. Can't be that much difference though.

Anyone got any ideas how to get the case off ?

Ta :)

Unfortunately your mouse ball will deposit skin cells from the mouse mat that came from yours and others hands on to position indicationg rollers and the tensioning roller. It appears as grey compressed fluff. The deposition is often irregular and this creates a jerky motion that eventually drives a user to extreme measures.
With a mouse that can't be opened you have to pick the material off with a sharp finger nail or small scraper tool. The material that falls off cannot be allowed to remain inside the mouse and interfere with the simple mechanics of the rotating disks that break a beam of light many times for a given centimetre of movement along an axis. This means you have to be extra careful with where the grot ends up. A safebud with a degreasing agent can regain the original surface grip when applied to the rollers the ball and the ball retaining mechanism.
