i do have 2 sandwich pans and some siliconeones would these be suitable in place of buying a shallow pan?

    Morning all

Im another one who cooks the base for cottage pies, pasta bakes etc in the remoska too :T ..I couldn't understand when mum was telling me about the recipes she had (in the remoska recipe book she has never used :rotfl: )..why they made the base for thing on the hob then poured into the remoska (more washing up  )..
With mince etc I find you get more taste in the remoska as you are kind of roasting the mince (I always made my mince bases in the oven anyway)

Tonight we have roast beef -(cooked in the remoska then sliced and frozen) I have it wrapped in portions in foil -so just have to drop it back in the remoska for a few minutes towards the end ;)
oohh and plenty or roasties will be going in the remoska frst:j

The shallow pan is used on its own in the stand (in the same way as the deep pan) but it cooks food quicker because the lid is closer to the food. If your sandwich pans and silicones are big enough capacity for you then you will get a similar effect from standing them on the rack inside your deep pan.

When using silicone just check first that there is enough room around them to lever them out of the pan without burning yourself when everything is hot and they are very bendy!

I've got one,I've got a Remoska :j :j I am so excited I can barely contain myself, how sad is that :rotfl:

I have wanted one for ages, but I couldn't justify spending the money and ever since someone on here said they had got a reduced one because the box was damaged,I have been looking in the reduced section of my local store at least twice a week....and today I got lucky :j

I really didn't expect to find one on a Saturday afternoon, but as soon as I saw the box on the shelf,I swooped on it so fast,I was probably a blur.It is a Standard, but I live alone so I'm sure it will be big enough for just me and I don't cook joints of meat and chickens etc.because I am vegetarian.

It was reduced by £25 because of the damaged box and although it is still a lot of money,I am sure it will soon pay for itself because I won't have to put my big electric fan oven on just to cook one item.

I am now going to re-read this whole thread from the beginning to learn all the tips and ideas on the best way to cook everything :D

Lucky you! I am not a vegetarian but I cook loads of pasta and rice bakes in mine all the time, you will have fun experimenting! No good asking me for recipes though because I favour the chuck it in and see what happens method of cooking! If it looks a little dodgy just put cheese on the top - melted cheese covers a multitude of sins lol!

I'm a great believer in cheese on top too, covers everything (except the need to lose weight). One thing I do which is good too is to make a cheese sandwich with lots of butter and cheese - any bread, brown, white , stale or not then put it in my food processor so it becomes cheesy buttery crumbs and then tip that all over whatever's in the Moska. They go all crunchy and yum, though not recommended as a weight-loss tip !!!!

Actually that is a very good idea, I think it would qualify as a weight loss tip too because you would use less cheese and the bread would have less calories than cheese:j:T:T:T I am going to try this next time - without the butter though - thank you!

  • I have some part baked rolls (I know, very lazy :o ) that need baking today. Will do them in the Remoska, on the packet it says 8 - 10 minutes in a preheated oven, so anyone have any idea how long in the Remoska ?
