hi there
not sure if right board, but was wondering if someone coulod shed some light on hama beads, have just come accross them for my 5 year old daughter, i think they look quite good. My question is do they have to be ironed or can they make the pictures and then put the beads back to make new ones? or are they not resusable.
kind regards

thank you for the quick reply0 -
if u dont iron them then yes they can be re-used. But its often fun to iron them and hang them up on their doors etc
i used to love them as a kid!

thank you all for the replies, so theres no need to buy the ironing paper they sell, if i want to make them permanent, just use greaseproof paper?
kind regards0 -
Over the years, my 3 kids have made me so many patterns and pictures out of (ironed) Hama beads, and I have saved them all - they are a lovely keep-sake and it's nice to see how your child progresses with them over the years. They also make lovely presents for grandmas etc. They make really good mug coasters too as they can be washed (gently) without fear of washing away any glue.....
Can I also mention that IKEA also sell their own version that are fantastic to buy as a refill for the real Hama sets - you get a huge tub of beads for a fraction or the cost.0 -
hama beads are great. one of the best things i ever got my kids. boys, girls and all ages enjoy making things from these.
if you only ever buy your kids 2 sets of toys buy duplo and hama beads!now mum of 4!!!0 -
agreed 100%!!! lets hear it for Hama :j
i have a lovely selection of photo frames, fridge magnets etc all made lovingly by my DD1, and its great to see how her skill has developed over the years!
have a look on ebay, as there are all kinds of different peg boards on there, save buying the more expensive full sets. and yes, greaseproof paper works fine.0 -
I'm completely new to these ... do you reuse the peg boards? Sorry if that sounds a bit dozy. That's Numberwang!0
