Tents at Le croix de vieux pont

Hi,

we are thinking of taking our kids of 2, 6 and 7 to this site next June for a fortnight and taking in a few days at disneyland paris while we are there.

Has anyone any experience of the Supertents on this or any other campsite on the continent.

Also any experiences of visiting the site and surrounding area would be appreciated.

Thanksin advance.

    Hi,
I haven't been in the Supertents (too basic for me), but I stayed on this site in July 2006 and loved it.
It's a large campsite with good facilities, basic restaurant, decent site shop, nice bar area and lovely pool complex. There's also a lake for boating and fishing, oh, and lots of ducks to feed!!
The village up the road is very pretty with a small chateau and several shops/bars/cafes and there are a couple of decent (large) supermarkets close by.
We visited Disney from the site twice.. Once on the camp-organised bus trip, the second time we drove oursleves. We preffered the drive ourselves day as we weren't tied to the return time of the coach. It's quite a way from the site (1.5 to 2 hours), but worth the trip.
We also did Parc Astrix, which in our oppinion was FAR FAR better than Disney!! and easier to get to!
Another place worth a visit id Chateau du Peirfonds. Only a short dirve away but absolutely stunningly beautiful. The Chateau sits in a beautiful village and you can spend hours explaring the whole chateau.
(forgot to mention, our kids were 14, 9, 5
    Hope that helps!

    Thanks, thats very helpful.
  • In the past (when we had children in tow!) we stayed in a Supertent on various French campsites and loved the experience! Obviously the weather influences the enjoyment - it wouldn't be so much fun if it was torrential rain etc! We were lucky enough to have lovely weather each time and really enjoyed it. One year we upgraded to a mobile home and how glad we were! That was the summer of torrential rain day after day - not much fun in a tent I'm sure! Another point to consider - no walls to block out any noise so if you are a light sleeper take ear-plugs!
