please can anyone help me.... I have unfortunately had my wing mirror removed off my car by passing motorist! I need to get this replaced, where is the cheapest place to buy a new complete unit for my car? I have tried Ebay, none available, tried the breakers same there and am being quoted around £300.00 for the parts alone from a local garage. Does anyone have any ideas where I could try? Many thanks.

'erm perhaps i've missed it somewhere, but you dont seem to have mentioned what car it is0

Sorry, you are quite right, that would probably be useful to know.... it is a Range Rover Vogue 2003.0

Have you asked the RR dealers how much the part is to order?
Otherwise try googling for range rover breakers such as
http://www.equicar.co.uk/breakers/land-rover-range-rover-parts-breakers.htmmatched betting: £879.63

if you have a RRV, then are you really worried if it's £300 for a new one...?
It's like people who buy a 3.0 car from me then ask about fuel econonmy...0 -
Even if you got it cheap, you'd still probably need to get it painted and fitted unless you're pretty handy, which is unlikely if you are asking where to get it cheap, no offence meant. Try your dealer direct for a price, it's surprising sometimes how reasonable the parts can be sometimes, otherwise, start phoning around breakers yards or try one of the breakers search sites like 24-7 parts or sommat0

please don't make assumptions about why we own the car, that is why I didn't put the make on in the first place and I knew that someone would make a criticism. I have the RRV because my son was in a full body plaster cast for some months and it was the only vehicle which we could transport him around in. The contraption he needed to secure him was able to be fitted to this car, believe you me it was not a decision we made lightly.0

As it sounds like you no longer need it? - perhaps now could be the time to get rid of it and own something more sensible given the future tax increases and that fuel is going up 10p a litre every month. - although no doubt everyone else is also trying to get rid of them and it probably won't be worth half what it should be.0 -

again, please don't make assumptions. I only require help to locate parts for a vehicle that we do need and yes is not everyone's ideal choice of vehicle. We would like a different vehicle for the reasons you state but at this time we still need the car and would like to locate parts at a reasonable price. I had hoped this would'nt turn into a debate about 4x4's which is why i omitted the make from my original post.0 -
Try this site:
http://www.4x4breakers.com/
There is a specialist Land Rover/Range Rover specialist breakers on the A38 near Fradley just north of Litchfield but I can't remember their name and I don't think I'm passing any time soon but if some of our Midlands members are and remember to have a look...0
