Wireless Mouse wont work

Hello and thanks for taking the time to look in.

I have just built a system with old cpu and mem on a new mobo :D I'm having a nightmare trying to get a wireless mouse to work in a usb port. My Wireless Keyboard works fine. (the mouse is fully charged and works perfect on any other machine)

In the device manager I have two yellow exclamation marks under Human interface devices - marked as unknown devices.

When I got to reinstall the driver I get this error msg

Can not install this hardware

HIDCLASS

The driver instalation file for this device is missing. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later.

Any help in solving this would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance ;)

Well certainly a driver is missing, What OS have you put on the pc?
If its Win 95/98 then they did not support USB devices (until 98SE). If you are on the internet it might just update itself. Was there a driver cd with the mouse. The keyboard is ok, so really the two yellow exclamation marks under Human interface devices is the problem here, go to the manufacturer web site and look for support/downloads.

I'm running Win XP MCE and its hooked up to the net but no updates solve it.

I have installed the Mouse Drivers and still no joy. There is no help via the Manufacturere website related to my problem :( The drivers on the site are the same as the ones I have on disk.

Ok then you need the motherboard CD and apply any chipset drivers.

Have you tried a wired mouse, might kick start the setup process again? Have you an enumerator in device manager under System devices?
(Plug and Play Software Device Enumberator)

Right click and "Update Driver" and then try the "Scan for Hardware changes"

A Wired mouse works perfectly but not convinient as the MCE Machine is attached to the tv :(

    Yes I have the enumerator v5.1.2600.5512 - date 01/07/2001

Tried the update driver but it couldnt find a newer one
