***** arghhh!

 Bloomin' Barclays!

OR office sent a letter to Barclays (I have a copy) saying they had no interest in the account. Have my DLA paid into it.

I have been checking it on line every day - and its stayed open. I recieved the copy on 7/7/08 (I went BR on the 4th). I tentatively put money in on the monday to cover the DD's which were due out on the 8th & 10th.

All went well & good. Dd's went out. £3.49 left in the account. This is a current account.

Since, I can't access the account on-line this morning, I am assuming that they have frozen it. ***** ********** ************ ****!!!

Ha Ha .......... at least I got in first and changed the DLA to the PO and I haven't told my daughter yet but the DD's are now coming out of her account!!LOL :T Round of applause please! Knickers to the lot of 'em!

Oh and I've copied all my statements and have decided to troll up to the OR's office and hand it all in, in person. Will probably have to stop in at Victoria Wine afterwards due to the stress!:o :o;)

I expect they have closed that because "we do not offer that type of contract to BR's" that is what i was told by one of the banks this week.

They may well let you have a basic account with them as i believe Barclays do accept some BR' s but i would just get on the phone to Co-op and get there excellent cashminder account.

Yes checked it and our wages did not go into the account when they should,so i went into panic mode. It was not frozen though.

Sometimes i try to access my on-line account and it won't let me so i would say try again later.D

Hi Debs, unfortunatley Barclays did this to us, despite us asking several times what would happend to the account, and them telling us they would downgrade it and we could carry on as normal. They closed it without notice and sent us a cheque for the balance.

They never did send me a closing statement, for weeks I didn't know which DD's they'd paid and which ones they hadn't.

Needless to say I didn't take them up on their offer of opening a basic account.

Thanks PP, I will try again later. But after I go and give the paperwork in to the OR's office tomorrow, if feel up to it, I will go into the local branch and give the peeps hell. I'm in that sort of mood anyway!  ;)

I'm just going to shoot myself.

After chucking away the forms I was supposed to sign for the OR - I may as well go dig my own grave now.

I can see a 15yr BRO coming on.
