On the contrary, just like you can edit a picture to improve it - remove red-eye change contract and correct colour, saturation etc. , it is entirely feasible to use tools to clean up music files - this is done all the time and is sometimes called re-mastering. Tools can be used to remove clicks and hiss and to enhance other frequencies to improve bass and high-end.To infinity and beyond!0 -

Your missing the point I was getting at if a picture is too far
gone just like an mp3 no matter what you try it wont be perfect.

I can see what you mean Mr Skint. I think the phrase you can't polish a turd is appropriate. My explanation was how to convert MP3s from CDs
However I do have to say that I disagree with you about VBR being unstable and fools you by adding treble. How did you come by this info? VBR used to be unstable at first but now with many many revisions is just as stable as CBR.0 -

Thats a very old article written in 2000. You should try the newer revision. Do a blind test and see which you prefer.0
