according to that test, you are getting 0.5 meg, not the 2 meg.
    What is your ISP?

    ah right
basically, you a paying for up to 2meg I presume ( ie, connected to phone line ? )
yet, you are only receiving 0.5meg... so really, compared to what you COULD be getting, its not very good im afraid

Anytime data arrives onto your computer from the internet, it counts as a download.

do you pay £10 or £20 a month for the service (0.5mbs max speed for £10,£20 is for 1mbs max speed )and it's wifi http://www.eastserve.com/home/bulletin/board/186

(took a few google searches to find that,it was well hidden )

i would ring them or e-mail them to ask why it's disconnecting, and why your not getting near your speed (if i have got the right one)

OP says he pays £20 a month for 2 Meg connection in his first post.

You're right though, that he should contact his ISP.

I very much doubt that site is accurate, it only gave me about a third of the result I expected. The one below seems very good, you can pick a server near you and also pick one the other side of the world, pick somewhere remote and you usually see a speed drop, as you would expect.
I gave my speed spot on 1996 kbs downstream which is 2Meg and 191kbs upstream. I would not contact the ISP but the test site!!
