Optimising your mobile's battery life ?
My mobile phone battery is on the slide and I want to try and get the most out of it during it's dying days.
I always tend to turn my phone off overnight to save the battery and also avoid being awoken in the middle of the night by a wrong number, or text from the service provider etc! However, I'm now thinking that powering up your mobile probably uses more battery power than just leaving it on standby during the night. Obviously, I could just put it onto silent alert to prevent any unwanted "beeps" during the night.
Does anyone have any views or tips as to how best to preserve / optimise your phone's battery life

a few
1)leave Bluetooth OFF unless you need it...
2) always let the battery go almost flat before recharging
3)turn off animated screensavers as they eat power
4)if you want to play games get a PSP....java games eat power as well
5) turn off vibrate and wind down the ring volumeEx forum ambassador

I was just curious as to how much charge it takes to power up a phone and whether it's significant, or not worth worrying about (I suspect the latter) !

might be late for this but when you first get your lovely new phone read the manual about the first charge this will optimise the standby time and also how long you will get out of it in terms of lifespan.
Even if it shows on your phone as fully charged leave it for the right amount of time.
buy an in car charger to charge while your driving depending on your phone these range from 1.99 up to 29.99Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
