Dear all, we are replacing the lounge furniture, Nothing else will fit the space but a three piece settee, Argos seem to meet the price criteria. Just wondered if any one has bought a settee from them, which one is more comfortable and higher from the ground, Mrs has bad knees.
All ideas most appreciated and welcome, can I use Quidco here?
thanks in anticipation,
seb

You pay for what you get, so dont expect great quality.0

Best bet is to go to Homebase and have a try out on various settees. As they are the same company with more or less the same products, so you can judge how good the quality is. Sometimes you do get lucky and see the one you want to buy on display! Me personally I wouldn't buy one unless I sat on it first just to see what it feels like.

Thanks Jag1978,
I have tried this at various places, it appears that manufacturers change the brand name for specific retailers. I liked a settee I think the brand name was ARMONDO very comfortable. I have seen similar in Argos but not the same brand.
I think I will ask Argos if I can sit on the settee first, unless you have a better idea?

some argos extra stores have furniture on display so you could try phoning and ask if any branch near you has one on display.BTW according to their website all furniture i covered by a 30 day no nonsense moneyback guarantee.
hope this helps.0 -

Can you not go back to where you saw the Armondo settee, find out who the Manufacturer is, then 'google' them and ask for local stockist details?
Alternatively google 'Armondo' and see if you can find it that way (I did a quick search and it came up with one that does mainly office furniture but obviously I don't know exactly what you are looking for).0 -
It was a while ago but we bought a two seat and three seat recliner in beige leather. First set lasted about 3 weeks before the leather split on the footrests as it was too tight to open the rests properly. While we were waiting for the inspection guy to come the springs in one of the seats also went. Guy arrived took on elook and said it was sub standard and arranged for a new one to be delivered the following week. That new one lasted out the year but springs on two seats have now gone, the leather is crumbling in one place and the foot rests are showing signs of wear.
We are just saving up to replace it. I'm not sure it is just an Argos problem though as the previous cream leather suite from one of the Land or World of Leather stores (can't recall which one)also only lasted a couple of years and when we asked about it when the inspection guy came he said that they are just not built to last anymore, they have a life of no more than 2-3 years at this price range as people change their suites alot more often than they used to.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
